LID SEALING

The SpeedShift Lid sealing machines have been developed to allow precise control of the lid sealing process as well as fully automatic battery type tooling changeover and are available as a stand-alone machine or part of a Speedshift assembly line.

Standard Features

  • Flexible Manufacturing - Up to 9 automotive batteries can be processed per minute (up to 400mm long at 2 per cycle) or 2 truck batteries per minute. SLA and Gel batteries can also be processed.
  • Precision process control - The lid melt and sealing process is set and monitored through the operator interface and uses a specially developed, timed motor control sequence which is programmable to a resolution of 0.1mm or 0.1 seconds. During processing the battery is held on a fixed level datum which ensures repeatable seal quality.
  • Push button changeover - In line with all Speedshift equipment from TBS, the LS6 has fully automatic battery-type changeover. The operation includes the heating platen, lid holder** - including all the electrical and pneumatic connections, battery positioning stops and guide rails.
  • Networkable PLC control - Allows remote diagnostics, advanced reporting, accurate temperature monitoring and battery data entered once and downloadable from and to other Speedshift machines.
