COS5INSERT LOADER TYPE IL1
For gel and standby batteries that require either male or female post inserts, the TBS automatic insert loader is an essential addition to the COS8, COS6 and ICOS2 and removes the need for manual insert placing frames on COS5 machines.
Inserts are loaded into a vibrating bowl feeder, which supplies the inserts at the correct feedrate and orientation. Each type of insert and mould layout requires a dedicated set of tooling. A typical changeover takes less than 20 minutes. The inserts can be placed directly into the mould or can be automatically fluxed and re-tinned before insertion (see picture below). The IL1 is available as a retrofit kit on all COS machines.
