Ordering spares from TBS
The following information should help you with ordering TBS machine spares.
Understanding the build structure of TBS machines
Each TBS machinery project is arranged in the following structure Heirarchy
J and M numbers are the most important factor in obtaining the correct spare parts for your machine. You can find the J number for each machine module stamped on a plate on the control panel. Note that auxilliary modules fitted to a COS machine such as a buffer stock will still have their own J number.
GAs are General Assembly Drawings which are shipped with every machine supplied by TBS. Most GA drawings refer to a TBS schedule which is a list of the parts that go to make up a particular machine assembly. GAs show the item numbers of the parts in the schedule and on more recent machines drawing numbers or 12 digit BO part numbers may also be shown.
MP Parts are Manufactured Parts such as plates, shafts and brackets. They are usually painted, powder coated or plated and are refered to by a drawing number. If you receive a drawing from TBS it will follow the following file naming convention:
D123452B.DWG D is the drawing prefix for TBS internal purposes 12345 is the actual drawing number 2 (Optional) is the sheet number if the drawing contains more than 1 page B (Optional) is the issue letter if the drawing has been modified
All TBS CAD drawings are produced using AutoCAD, all older drawings are Tif image files which may be viewed using the imaging software supplied with Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and 2000.
BO Parts are Bought Out parts such as motors, pneumatics and electrical equipment. They are specified by a 12 digit part number which has the following form: 000 00 000 0 000
Consumable parts such as Flux, Cork and maintenance tools are also available from TBS and their 12 digit part numbers are detailed in the operator manuals supplied with the machine.
Tooling parts are generally unique to your particular battery type and machine / mould configuration so if spares other than stanard items such as heaters, thermocouples and gaskets are required please contact TBS with the Machine J number, mould number where applicable and the relevent battery type reference.
Typical procedure for determining a part number for spares ordering:
- Determine the J number of the machine the part is required for.
- Look at the GAs / Schedules for the relevent section of the machine in the PID (parts identification) manual. (GAs and schedules should cross-refer)
- Identify the part number (Drawing number or 12 Digit number) or otherwise the schedule number & item number for the required item.
- Submit an enquiry for the item which will be dealt with within one working day of receipt. (If you use Internet explorer 5, it is possible to get the browser to fill in your details such as company name and email address for you automatically once it has been completed once).
