2007 sees the launch of the new Speedshift Compact range of multifunction machinery with processing rates of up to 2.5 standard batteries per minute. Other machines include a combined Post burn and Leak testing machine and the LS4 Lid sealing machine.
The TBS Speedshift SW/SCT squeeze weld and short circuit testing machine combines production proven technology into a cost effective dual purpose footprint. Cells are tested in-line for short circuits prior to welding by the adjacent squeeze welding head. High quality intercell welding uses the TBS WS200 weld firing system giving repeatable and consistent results. Any suspect batteries are automatically rejected for further inspection.
The weld head on the SW/SCT rotates to allow processing of 3x2 layouts and battery type changeover is initiated by selecting a 'recipe' of stored battery parameters from the touch screen operator panel. All guides and positional stops and process settings are automatically adjusted for each battery type selected.
